Not surprising at the prices Ocean Media have been charging dealers for a pitch at the show. I believe some dealers have paid in excess of £10,000 for a pitch which means you have to sell a lot of caravans to recoup that sort of outlay.
Also the cost of entry for Joe Public was over the top and if I remember correctly last year's attendance figures were much lower than previous years probably due to the high entrance fee.

I have to say, I'm also not at all surprised, and I hinted at this in some of my earlier posts. As I wrote on Facebook, to spread the shows much more over the UK may mean that the industry will 'reach' more people. B'ham has the October show, but it's a bit of a haul for anyone to come from south of London. More inconvenient for me as the NEC is only about 25 min. away. Just hope that DFDS will still offer a ferry code for the EXCEL show. I'm sure there will be those who will miss this valuable opportunity, otherwise!

might have to go to the manchester show in january. anyone been before and how does it compare to NEC...other than smaller ?
