The vans been covered for winter for 3 weeks and already i'm bored already. Would love to go away for 2 weeks far away from home, but job ( complete lack of holidays left ) prohibit it. Roll on January for another 28 days allowence plus the odd sick day
Know what you mean...........we have both said that we would love to have gone away this winter as its our 1st year with a van but have decided not to as don't think it would be too much fun for our 10 month old. He needs the awning to crawl around in and we just felt it was too cold for him at his age......oh and like you we have used up all our holiday!
We are waiting for the CC to start taking bookings for 2012 as we have already used up all next years holiday and have got 5 seperate weeks off Now we just need to agree on the sites we would like to try!
Van is now drained and packed away in Storage until April but I will be popping up every 6 weeks or so just to check it and rotate the wheels, etc
Sat on Troutbeck head cclub as I type this. IMO. Winter vanning is far better than summer. Clear blue skys and a wonderfully frosty morning. NOWT better. Don't see the point of having van sat in storage for 4 months. 😁
Try my approach Nospots.......The van went into storage, washed cleaned and covered on Wednesday - not to be opened until next February. Now I have to decorate the hall, landing, staircase and kitchen before Christmas. We start this morning so no time to get bored..............

However, I'm waiting on a good fine couple of days to give the inside of my van some paint before I put the winter cover on... hopefully will start today!

This is the best explanation of why you should not put the van into winter storage

------------- Roughing it in style at Calloose caravan and camping holiday park nr St Ives.(seasonal pitch)
Its not a hangover, its wine flu!
I used to refuse to go away in after october and before March, but then I tried it, Now absolutely love being tucked up all cosy in the van with the famil all year round, Hot chocolates on the go (or brandy and hot lemonade) and chilling out after a hectic week.
Just love it, the kids don't care they still go out and play on their bikes, Spent to much money on the van to have it sat doing nothing, But each to their own
------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
When we bought our van we vowed we would use it year round. Last year my husband was diagnosed with cancer and had treatment throughout winter so we didnt manage it... but this year, health all clear, put van on a site that provides storage so any Friday we can ring up and have a cozy peacefull weekend in stunning countryside.
Away tomorrow for 12 nights to Silloth Cumbria
Never do pack away for winter
Next will be New Year snow permitting lol
There is no better feeling than returning to your warm van after a nice walk or return from the pub
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
