I have been looking at a few vans recently and have narrowed it down to the swift sport 514 or the 524
The 514 is most appealing due to the large front end plus fixed bed . However I still like the idea of having an end bathroom. My oh likes the 514 and says we don't live in the bathroom. We don't use the shower but like the space for changing etc.
Any reviews on these vans or layouts please.
I don't want to make the wrong decision.
I like a large bathroom too. How about the 554, has both the bed and the bathroom, very similar in weight too.
Downside is the lounge is a little shorter.
Of the 2 you are looking at, I would prefer the 524 (we had this layout in our previous van), the kitchen space is bigger and you have the dinette table too, and the bathroom is bigger.
But if you want a fixed bed it has to be the 514 or the 554.
We faced the same dilemma and in the end we have bought a 514 after weighing up the pros and cons we came to the same conclusion as your husband that we the living space was more important then the 20 minuets a day spent in the bathroom so we pick ours up next weekend.
We have an Eccles Sport 514 on order (same van different trim). Our thinking was we spend a few minutes in the loo each day so would prefer the shorter more open plan 'van. NB We are going for a dealer special ... many dealers offer these on the Swift Sport too .... much better spec for little or no extra cash

We have a sterling amber which is a fixed bed and rear bathroom, it's all personal choice but I just love to have a nice bathroom, being able to store all that kind of stuff in there and have room to move around and get changed away from main van area means a lot to us and we do tend to use shower quite a bit in there
I have been looking at the dealer specials they have them near us but I am not so keen on this.
Can you tell me who supplies dealer specials? The only one I can see near to us is highbridge Near burnham on sea. Their special is called coastline range.
I am going to have another look then make up my mind.
If you contact Swift they can supply a list of who provide dealer specials. I am aware of the Scottish dealers who offer them but sketchy about those offered elsewhere.
For the amount of extra goodies on offer they are worth seeking out. Our current 'van is a dealer special as our new one will be.

We are getting ours a Expression 514 from Michael Jordans
it was a toss up between them and Highbridge but they gave the better deal and were closer to us the van with all the extras actually cost us less then the standard version with just the front sunroof and delivery charge, from a dealer closer to us.
did you buy your Conquest from Highbridge sdrew56? We wanted to buy the 525 from them but even with a brand new 2011 van now a year old they're asking far too much.
We've looked at the swift dealer special at Highbridge and like all the extras but again the price wasnt so good imho. They appear to want more than other dealers.

Yes we bought the Conquest from Highbridge to be honest they both came up with different trade in values for the Conquest Highbridge offered more against a Coastline Classic, Jordans discounted the new van more the bottom line difference for the 514 Expression came down to the mover swap Jordans did it for nothing Highbridge wanted £195.00 and they were closer apart from the upholstery the spec is identical.
we sold our last caravan privately but did think about px for the Conquest. They offered us a very good price for our van and would swap the mover foc. However in the meantime we sold the van for a better price privately so went back to Highbridge to do a deal with a straight purchase only to find they wanted more for the van than if we'd done the part ex. They are the only dealer we've ever found offer a better deal if you part ex than if you go just to buy the van.
