My old caravan Im restoring has had a wet feeling to the inside fibreglass roof for some time now and I cant get to the bottom of the problem. As I say Its a fibreglass roof with loft insulation inside then boards. All possible areas have been resealed that might have leaked but this seems more than just a simple leak. I decided to remove a couple of panels from the ceiling inside. Now, The panels are perfectly dry, as are the wood batterns accross the ceiling. The damp feel seems to be all over the whole area of the fibreglass inside. Its not dripping just damp when you wipe your hand over it. Is this condensation? I might add this caravan is quite a big project as one side of the van complete had damp walls. These have all now been removed and re skinned etc, but I was wondering if the ceiling was taking some of that moisture away from those walls in the past? Now that Ive opened the ceiling panels to the air the moisture on the fibreglass is drying up quite quickly, so perhaps its a question of just airing it then putting it back?? Can anyone offer any advice please? This project is going so well but this really stumps me? :( If it was a simple leak Im sure I could locate it as it would be in one area but this seems all over?
