How many people caravan without any form of awning??
Do you have any problems with wet coats and shoes in winter months?? Or do you only not use the awning in the summer? Just I want to go away but only for the weekend and don't want to have to use time putting up a full size awning that in essence would only be used to hang up wet coats and put shoes so as not to make the caravan dirty or damp.
I am toying with the idea of a small porch awning but am still undecided.
depends on the school holidays,if we have grandchildren plus three bikes ect.also if we need the sleeping annexe summer time, then we use the full awning.only two of us we use the porch awning.warm days we eat in the awning anyway.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
We only use awning during summer, from september on we dont bother, as then we are usually are only on a site for 2 days or so then move on to another site taking in perhaps 4 to 5 sites. That is why we like the end washroom layout as we can then hang wet coats ect in the shower cubicle. We have a porch awning besides a full size,it does not seem to make much difference time-wise setting up,the only advantage is the porch is easier to dry if wet..
We havent got a awning and dont want one there is only 2 of us so dont need the stress, we have a water proof box to but the shoes in and that goes under the van xx Gill
We only ever use a lightweight porch awning. Sold the full canvas jobby. Too much bother. If we don't have the awning up we would use the shower/end bathroom for wet stuff.
We gave up using an awning quite a few years ago. The nature of our caravanning is that rarely stop anywhere for longer than a week and its often only a few days so I could not be bothered about putting an awning up. We do have a Caravanstore canopy which we can use if the weather is good or we are staying slightly longer on a site.
I've never had an awning in 46 years of caravanning. Wet stuff isn't that much of a bother, and I subscribe to the theory that awnings attract damp. If you've ever been sailing you will know how much power there is in a sail, and that force tugging at the awning rail can soon allow seepage of water behind it.
There are only 2 of us, and we have a big caravan, so we don't need one.
We have both, but only use the full size for summer with 2 teenagers and a dog there is not enough room in the van and i have to have somewhere to escape.
We have a full awning, sun canopy and a light porch awning.
The porch has never been out of it's bag!
The sun canopy is our choice when in France.
The awning is used when we are joined by family wherever we are.
Just two of us in the UK we don't use any of them.
we have a full awning we plan to use just twice a year (whitweek and two weeks in France). The rest of the time we'll stick with our Kampa Rally 260 porch awning but can forsee some dry weekends (we hope) when we'll not use an awning at all. I know OH would love never to have to bother with one.
