I know in all the cold weather a sun canopy is probably the last thing some people think about but...
My Inlaws have recently bought a new caravan and with it they found a sun canopy, it's a very basic sheet of tarpaulin with an awning bead on one side, and holes for 3 poles on the other, no sides to it at all, we tried it to see how it works and it worls very nicely, I have treid looking for something similar my self but all I can find are what I think to be mega expensive awning/sun canopies, within £250-350
Does anyone know more about this type of sun canopy and where to find one a a reasonable price?

I have the OR Easi Canopi and think it is brilliant!!https://www.peak-outdoors.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=1120
Here it is on the caravan - soooo simple to use, I can put it up on my own and I'm a short, unfit mum of 3!!
Available here:http://www.leisureoutlet.com/caravans-and-motorhomes/awnings-and-accessories/canopies/outdoor-revolution-easi-canopi.html The 2011 model has slightly different windows - personally I prefer the 2010 model as the windows are bigger (and I like to be nosey!!)
They come up on eBay quite regularly - highly recommend it.

The Dorema Capri is a simple canopy - we have adapted one to use on or Folding Camper - size 8 costs approx £120 but we got an ebay bargain.

WE use and are great fans of Isabella's Shadow. It comes in various lengths the shorter with two poles the longer with three. It is a good wet weather canopy as well as a sun canopy:

With them you can play various applications, see here:

Am I missing something here, if you have a full awning just leave the front and end panels at home and you have a sun canopy. I also believe that they are pretty susceptible to wind and would constantly want taking down if in a particularly windy area. If you want to buy one you can get them purpose made from the tent repair centre at Burton on Trent. ------------- A barman is just a pharmacist

The OP wanted something between £250-350, does that not count out most full awnings.
edit= sorry he wants something for less than that, and specifically a sun canopy.

The sheet & 3 poles work ok for me(see gallery). You need strong guy lines, 2 to each pole & correct pegs for type of ground because you need a fair bit of tension to keep it all taut. They will stay up in a good breeze but blow down in very strong wind.
