Hi all we are looking into getting an awning and seen one second hand, our van measures 831 and bradcot web site says we should get 840 will the extra 9cm make it look too long or will that look fine?

That will be 4cm either side. About an inch and a half either side. You won't notice it

That amount is easily taken up in the angle that the side panel meets the ground, just pull it outwards slightly and it will be nice and tight.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
If you need to level your van on the awning side then raising the van will probably make a neat adjustment to the size anyway
