I have been interested in these since last summer after watching Dragons Den and seeing talk on here about memory foam mattresses. Today I noticed the post mentioning they have 20% off. So my fellow caravanners, does any one have one, would they recommend, but most importantly if I was going to buy which one should it be (too many options) particcularly the thickness.

I think I'd go for the summer weight duvet as we haven't winter camped yet, plus you can always add an extra blanket on top and we have heating!

Thanks

Hi Catie,

We brought a pair of these last year for our van and have been very impressed with them. We brought the two season pack which came with the storage bag (very useful for keeping them clean when they are packed away and def worth it) and a summer and winter Duvet. In terms of comfort they are excellent and much better than using the van cushions. They are very quick to roll out when making the beds up and likewise quick to put away. They aren't the smallest of things when rolled up so we store them in our wardrobe as they are a bit tight under the seats in our small ranger. We haven't used them over the winter but were using the summer duvets right through till the beg of October with no issues. The covers are also easy to remove for washing. Although they aren't cheap they are, in our view, well worth it and are certainly one of the best things we have brought for the van. We have also used them at home as a temporary bed for one night when staying with friends! The only advice I would give is to get the storage bags for them when you order...and with 20% off at the moment its a good time to buy!

I've had my Duvalay for over 2 years now and absolutely LOVE it.
Very comfortable (I use it in the caravan and also when we camp, using a camp bed) and I have never been cold when using it. I have the 4cm winter Duvalay.

They are so quick and easy to use - just unroll and you're ready for bed! Whe rolled up, they are quite bulky compared to a sleeping bag but the extra comfort they offer far outweighs this minor inconvenience.
The cover is easily removed for washing.

I perosnally don't have the storage bag - I find an old single duvet cover does the job just as well for keeping the Duvalay clean.

Overall I would HIGHLY recommend it.

I don't have Duvalays, but I can speak on behalf of the Raskelf Toppers - they are AMAZING!

Totally different night's sleep to when we just slept on the cushions.

Expensive - but totally worth every penny IMHO.

Used ours this weekend, we have the summer rating & caravan all year. We manage to store them under the seats with the pillows in our Ranger, by rolling them up with  part of the cover hanging out one end (difficult to explain but rolls a lot smaller) a couple of wide neoprene bands with velcro keeps them i one piece.....Quality items & would highly recommend them.

Best things we've ever bought for camping. I complained to them when I saw them at a show that we spend too long in bed now on holiday because they're so comfortable - her reaction suggested this wasn't the first time she had heard that said! We have the winter weight duvet as we're in a folding camper which obviously isn't as well insulated as a caravan. With these you really have to roll them tight to get them in the bag and it's still a tight fit. They're really cosy though. We use a single sheet folded over inside so we don't have to wash the covers all the time but also if it gets too hot in the summer you can throw off the duvet bit and still have a sheet over you. The winter weight suits us, but you might find in a well insulated van you only need the summer weight - and they would make a smaller roll to store.
