I wonder if the knowledgeable folk on here can help, the last two nights I have gone to switch on the heater in the caravan [On frosty nights I like to keep the vans heating ticking over] only to find the trip switch has gone.

Thanks Jeff, however it is a Truma heater not an Arc one.
Gary (Arc Systems) is a gas engineer and specialises in caravans so he will be able to help with a Truma. If it keeps triping (and its not overloaded by other things being on) it sounds as if it might be the heating element?
It may well take longer than a couple of hours but does sometimes work so worth a try, however, actual element problems are not common on truma heaters.
I would suspect one of the limit stats have failed and this needs the fire out to change.
I know it needs fixing and this is a timely warning, but, the van has no feelings and will sit perfectly content without any heating?! lol
