Can't get rid of the darn things! Think we'll have to bring the 'van home for a while to try and put them off the scent (that'll please the neighbours!).
They (the mice that is) are driving us totally mad. Tried blocking all holes (that we can see), even poured a ring of Jeyes fluid around the van as someone told us that would get rid of the scent! Burned the ground and smelled like public loos but the mice are still visiting the 'van! Think we're up to 15 this winter so far!
We have one of those sonic mouse things and (touch wood) have had no problems with mice since buying it. Whether that's just down to luck or the sonic device, I wouldn't like to say.
Bought ours of fleabay and the battery lasts about 6 months.
In the past (with our old van) we had mice in the locker and they have a nasty habit of chewing holes in things. We just put the usual poison down in the locker and that got rid.
Rentokil mouse and rat bait, put small trays of the stuff inside the bed lockers and the bases of kitchen cupboards, then if they do happen to get in, there more likely to eat that than chew any bedding or wires ect, and it soon dispatches them without any mess or smell.
Luckily they havent made it as far as our caravan, but we use the stuff in the garage and it works well.

Celebrating 37 years of Caravanning in 2019, Recently Considered Retiring, but Totally Addicted for Life!
Hi Russell, we live near fields so we often have uninvited wildlife , even had a family of stoats or polecats living in my garden , hedgehog this winter sleeping in my wood pile but we have had a family of rats in the garden and we have had mice in the kitchen , they just love to keep warm.
So sadly we do have try many humane ways to relocate them but sadly we have only found old fashion traps work. But the best tip is to load on them is mars bars - yip mice
have sweet tooth ! and they love mars bars. Sounds weird but honestly it does work . Try to place the trap near the warmest spot .
Its a shame we cant host them but they are destructive
we had a mouse in our caravan. we put bait down and moth balls before the invasion. the mouse actually took the bait and stored it in different parts of the caravan.i found in the handle of my jockey wheel motor mover, in the awning bag,in the shaft of the jockey wheel. oh and it ate the moth balls.
Make sure your waste water outlets are properly blocked off/closed. The shower or sink rose will not deter them. We were moused once via this route, inside the waste pipe, through the rose, and ate their way through the shower mat!

when i was a youngster !!!!! yes i know it was a long time ago i used to breed white mice. They have a skull that will fit through a hole the size of a pencil so if you are going to put mesh over any air holes / drain holes you will have to make sure its MICRO mesh and steel wire not plastic . touch wood we have'nt had any yet and i hope we dont . If you are going to trap 'em use a good old fashioned mouse trap dont use the glue type as they eat there own legs off top get away and thats not nice even if we dont want them.

Mice can do a lot of damage to a caravan - chewing through wiring, nesting in beds/upholstery etc. Rentokil poison does work in our garage (field mice looking for a nice warm place to stay) and did get rid of the odd mouse from the locker in our old van.
Are you sure there are no foodstuffs or anything remotely edible in your van that may be attracting them?
We use B&Q baitbox/trap thingies in the bed lockers and in the cupboards - work like a charm. We found the sonic thing less than useless, (unfortunately). We keep the van baited all year round. no visitors this year (yet!!)

We've still had nothing, chilephilly - and thats in 25 years. Never used any traps/bait or anything. We've obviously been lucky. You keep those mice down in your row - don't send them up to row F.
Few years ago I used to breed Australian Finches in Wooden Shed.
Suffered mice invasion. To get rid of them I used 2 things. Shoebox set with six tremble traps bait at far end Choclate is excellant. If one trap does not get them one of the others will. Cut one inch hole in bottom corner and position this against a wall mice rarely run across a room. This is a bit brutal I admit, a catchum alive trap may be better, once set these can catch multiple mice
Spread talcum powder over the floor - that way I could see where they were coming in by the footprints.
I also hear that you never get mice if you have pet gerbils doubt you want to go down that route.
Mice can easily pass through 1/2" mesh so concur with previous post that mesh needs to be 1/4 inch.
