Hi backyardigan, Just a thought-- have you checked the nose weight on your van, caravan should be level or slightly down when towing, if it seams very low to ground, measure the distance, your vehicle may also have soft suspension, hopefully other will be along shortly to give you some possible answers. ------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.

Am I right in thinking that a previous thread ended with you saying you would check the noseweight and get back to us?
What was it?
As before, it's worn suspension or too much noseweight.

Am I right in thinking drop plates should only be used to lower the tow ball height? Not to raise it? (I'm talking about the basic ones, just a steel plate with holes drilled in it).------------- Matt.

That's right, but even downward facing drop plates are now illegal, except where type approval has been granted.
This is usually only for large 4 x 4s.
