I have just searched through our Grundig manual.  Although the TV only operates at 12 v.d.c. via its 240 v.a.c./12 v.d.c. adaptor, and the input plug on the TV is a standard one, the instruction manual neither says it can be connected direct to a 12 v.d.c. supply, nor that it cannot.  Under the circumstances, always using the mains adaptor is the only safe option.

Gadger57 - our tv is courtesy of our kids too!!!  Xmas pressie - we use it in between in our bedroom at home. We are on EHU most of time, well actually all the time!

i have fitted a second removable tv in the rear of the van for the children to watch CBBC or whatever.also they can use it to play games on if required.it is on a freebox fixed in the cupboard at the moment but i hope to buy a twin LNB for the sky dish as this gives better pictures and more reliable.

We use an EHU when we are away from home and take or 19" DVD combi unit from the bedroom. If you are not using it off the battery then just save your money and a domestic TV will do you no problem.

Only ever use EHU sites so it's a mains TV for us with a DVD cassette on the side. It works well for us.

19" LG led for us with a usb port, 320gb external hard drive with around 200 films on it, miles easier than dvd's & always the latest films.

Never go to sites with no hookup
