I can't think of anything funny to say though, but as it seems almost everyone else has answered, i suppose I had better.
I, too, use ordinary rolls. Mine came from my local Budgens on the way to the caravan storage. I had just popped in there, on my way to get the van for my last trip, to take advantage of a special offer on Jacobs Creek wine, when I remembered I had almost finished the half a roll rhat was in the van when I bought it.
Good job I remembered, as it was a new years trip, & all the local shops were shut for 2 or 3 days when I got there.
Yes, normal paper will do, & the septic tanks are fine.
Wouldn't recommend these ultra strong "Charmin" (triple ply) types papers though, they even cause trouble in mains sewerage pipes!
Cheap stuff for me too.
Had problems with the more expensive stuff, it didnt fit in the holder!!!
If I use the better stuff, the toilet seems to need emptying more, not sure if its because it has more "substance" to it or not, but it seems to break down ok.
I use morrisons value roll. It breaks down no problems at all. That "carvan toilet roll" gimmick is all a bit of a con. I have also used the thicker andrex stuff as well without problem.
