Hi all, getting ready for the new season and am looking for a foreman type grill, have seen a jamie oliver one which opens out for a bbq as well. Looks ideal but is 2000w in power is that too much? Has anyone used one? Also looking at Lakeland Remoska!! sounds fab being able to cook all manner of things in it, but a few reviews state it blows fuses. Anyone tried them? Don't want to be Mr Unpopular and keep blowing the site fuses! Obviously want use both at same time any help or advise gratefully received, Cheers Trick
We have one of those non-stick grill plate things from Lidl/Aldi. they are very useful, but at just over 2000 watts, we need a site with at least 10amp EHU to use it. Not usually a problem in UK, but can be a problem abroad.
If you turn off all other "heating" appliances when you use a grill, you should be fine to still have on the fridge and battery charger.
Power required for Remoska is 470 watts or 650 watts, so should not be a problem even on 6 amp EHU.
Remoska is 470W or 650W for the Grand. They are great and can be used on low amp supply with no problem. I've got a Grand and can cook a complete meal in it. Food stays nice and moist and cooks evenly. I still have a small GF grill for quick burgers, steaks etc as it saves lighting the bbq and its a lot easier to clean. If I had to dump all but one of my cooking toys the one I would keep would be the Remoska.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for the reply the Remoska website states 470 Watts for the regular one. Very economical and you can roast, bake etc. Sounds too good to be true!
I had a George Forman one with fixed plates which were a pain to clean, so gave it away for home use by our daughter. They were also quite heavy, so now we just use a small one with removable plates and it fine.

It's a George Foreman and we love it, the plates aren't removable but if you switch it on to heat up then wipe it with a kitchen towel it's clean, takes 30 seconds.
You can keep it on the stand or put it on a tabletop and it cooks the food a treat, we ditched our normal bbq as soon as we bought this, it's so much more practical, uses ehu so no more buying coals & liquid plus if it rains we can use it in the awning.
It cost £60 and we have even bought a second one that we use at home and then in the conservatory in winter.
It's definitely one of our favourite caravan purchases.
We used to have a huge George Foreman grill which came with a trolley like stand. As there are 5 people in our household it was ideal for cooking on. Not sure what the wattage was but never had any problems using it on site. The only problem was cleaning it, it really was a nightmare, even with non-stick surfaces it was murder, any grease would drip down the back and underneath which had to be cleaned off before storage in the 'van. To be honest I've never really enjoyed the taste of the food cooked on it as I think that because they remove all the fat it dries the food and and alters the taste.
