Yes fill your water we have done ours today and found a leak in the system. but still got a leak Yes we drained down ect.don't wait till you are on a rally to find out that you have a leak or something.
i always use milton never had a problem in 12 years.used it for baby bottles years before that.only leave it in for one hour as stainless tanks do not like it.cleaning mine tomorrow.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Milton only sterilises,it do`s not remove any dried on residue that has dried in bends or joints in the pipe system,Puriclean removes the residue,so it totaly cleans & sterilises the water system.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.

thanks pete i will get some and try it.any experience of the tablets you can get from the chemist to purify the water in the barrel?

To be honest michael,I have only used Puriclean,me and the wife drink water straight from our tank on our M/home,and never had any prob`s,but if the van is standing at home for a couple of weeks,I fill the tank and system, that way there is very little air to cause any oxydising in the system, then when off again, give it a couple of good clean water flushes.

I do not generally do it but have done occasionally, 45 litre internal tank plus truma hot water full, and to be jonest it made not one iota of differenc.
That's about an extra 60kg of weight (not sure what the truma carries, but water is 1kg per litre). It might not feel different but it's a lot of extra payload if you happen to get a pull.
Couple that with your usual toys, maybe a cadac, load of shopping, gas bottles, battery etc etc, I reckon you'd be over.
Average payload is around the 200kg mark, probably slightly over. An extra 60kgs of water is a big chunk of that.
