Just got new van and it comes with one of these awnings my questions are? ,are they easy to erect and is there some sort of fixing pads as i carnt seem to find any? If yes can i use any brand of fixing pads? thats it
You should have easy fit roof pole brackets. If you have a plastic piping running the length of the roof then any type of bracket should fit. but if its a new van ask your supplier for the missing parts.

We have a quest windsor porch which is very easy to erect and has those standard pads x 3, not sure without going on to there website if its similar or not. takes us about 10 mins to erect. J x
Like I said before read the instructions they will give you an indication of how easy or difficult it is to put up. So dont moan if the answer is not to your liking.

I have one of these and it is very easy to put up. The poles have a hook on the end so any pads that accept those should do. One thing to be aware of is that the vertical padded part of the awning (which fits to the van wall) has an awning bead onto which you can fit a plastic tube type part (not supplied with awning) which fits onto the awning bead and clips to the upright poles at those points gining a very secure assembly (like the Isabella system).
Thanks candy will have a look, have not seen this plastic tube on net? any ideas where to get it from? Only had full awnings before because we have a couple of kids? Do you think this size whould do us?
Hi Scott, I got mine from Catterick Caravans, you need 4 pieces, (I think from memory they are actually Isabella accesories and Quest just nicked the idea) 2 of them you have to cut down to get the right length on each side. The awning is quite big, we are 3 plus 2 dogs and I never put my full awning up unless we are away 4+ days. (My full awning is a Quest Sandringham and it is exactly the same as the Kensington only bigger) Both really good awnings.
thanks for that, seems that you dont use the ladder type pegging pins? Looks like i need some bungie balls? as there is only a couple in bag, is that right candy?
There are ladders on the corners and front centre and elastic loops at the pole ends but the rest of the pegging points are the "bungie balls" as you call them (black and grey ones on mine), get plenty coz they are always disappearing!!
The poles which push against the padded area of the awning are easilly recognisable because they are the ones with the wing nut clamps on the end. They clamp to the awning roof poles near to the caravan wall and push the padded part of the awning against the van wall creating a seal. The plastic profile helps the seal to stay in place
The plastic profile is called
CLICK PROFILE PVC 75CM X 4 PACK
Cost £13.99 per pack and is in the Isabella accesories section on the Catterick Caravans online shop. This profile slides onto the beading of the awning (vertically next to the padding) then clips to the upright poles mentioned above which push the padding against the caravan wall (avoiding damage to van) Hope this helps
