coming over from motorhomes we have today purchased a caravan mainly for the space and the fact that you have transport when you get to sites, it was the first private one we viewed aswell having done the dealers for the past few weeks, now just to get a towbar fitted
welcome to tin tent land, bike rack depends on what car you use,we have a 4x4 and a rack fitted to the back door,a strap on type.carries two bikes and one goes into the caravan.

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Hello and welcome. We have come over to the caravan section too today having just bought a secondhand caravan after a folding camper. Hope it will be all and more than we wish for.
We have one fold up bike . That goes in the boot. We have an estate car.
The other goes in the caravan with a old sleeping bag or blanket over it. Or we also have a bike rack . All these work well for us. The fold up bike is the best though.
Most things depend on the weight.
Good luck have fun
Welcome to the tin tent, we are doing the opposite ( due to OH disability ) but we've had some great times with ours , welcome aboard :)

im sure you wont regret it, if there was just me and the missus im sure we would stick with the motorhome, but there is 5 of us and it is a little cramped, im impulsive though because this week ive got to get a towbar fitted to the car, put the motorhome on ebay, and find somewhere for the caravan to live because until we sell the motorhome it cant come home!!!!
Congratulations!! We bought our caravan last year after using tents and then a folding camper. We are enjoying it so much we wished we'd done it sooner. We only take one bike so that goes in the caravan with the awning & poles wedged either side. If you have more bikes I think its probably best they go on the car as you have to consider the payload of the caravan and bikes are pretty heavy.

I too have come from a motorhome. I am really enjoying my little home from home and find it more practical having the car to go places when we are away. I am sure you will love it, enjoy.
hi we have two fold up bikes, they both fit in van nicely, but you have to consider weight.
