Numax and Elecsol seem popular and come with warranties between 3-5yrs. Although you can get them slightly cheaper on the net by the time you add in postage its normally as cheap to get one from a local dealer. The other option is to try ebay and see if anyone near you is selling one (search on "nearest first"). We have just got a 1yr old 100ah Numax for £35 as a family were giving up caravaning and selling their stuff.....would have cost £90+ new!

Not sure how long they should last but I would expect at least 5 yrs+. Like everything it depends how often they are used and how well they are looked after, etc.

Batteries seem to be a bit unpredictable in terms of life length. Would have thought 5  years is not abnormal, but not particularly good either. But, if its got to be then so be it, grit your teeth and put your hand in your pocket. Am inclined to go to a specialist battery company or a motor factors myself as are usually condiderably cheaper than a caravan dealer. Shop around on the phone and the yellow pages but emphasise you want a leisure battery not a car battery. As for one brand being better than another, I guess the quality is reflected in the price which in turn is related to the guage of the lead plates.
