IV GOT A FIAMMA FOLDAWAY AWNING FITTED ON MY VAN AND HAVE NEVER USED IT. { CAME WHEN WE GOT THE VAN} HAS ANYONE GOT ANY TIPS ON HOW GOOD THEY ARE ETC. IM NOT SURE OF LEAVING IT UP AT NIGHT BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE A BIG SAIL AND IF THE WIND GETS IT IT WILL CAUSE A LOT OF DAMAGE
If you look on Fiamma website you will see you can get a tie down kit which will keep it held down but canopy should be retracted in very strong winds.

We use ours all the time, we use the tie down kit that you can buy extra and ours has been up in strong winds. Just a word of advice make sure you use foam pads behind any poles against the van as these poles can dent your van.
