We unscewed at the back of the pelment,Took the fabrice off the stapled new fabric back on.Yes it is worth the effoet see mine in my profile.

  The pelmets in our 95 Lunar are held on with velcro. co-incidentially ours are pinkish velour as well,

Ours unscrewed too - they were a nasty brown colour and I was going to recover them, but the van looked so much better and unfussy without that they have stayed off.  You hardly notice the curtain track and it gives more light, I just changed the tie backs from the same brown to cream and it was a real makeover - very pleased.
