I have an elddis 636 avante and the battery is the sort that charges from the mains when connected.I know that batteries should be removed from the van and stored and charged over winter but this looks like it is not meant to come out.It never lies for for too long and has never gone flat. There is no mention of removing the battery in the manual (not that that means anything!) but should I remove it and how. The terminals that connect it appear to be within the van as I did think it would be a straightforward job but don't want to remove it if it's not meant to come out

hi if its fully charged l would leave it alone,a fully charged is 12.7 volts on your meter.it is not necessary to remove the battery in normal use. if you have the caravan at home you can as i do and have it on EHU 24/7 fixed to a timer for 4 hours a day.i have done this for years. sounds like you have the clip on terminals.these can be removed by lifting with a screwdriver and they just clip off.black first and then red.refit red first black last.i has been done, make sure the battery goes back the right way round as it can damage the charger at great expense.

the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
