Our gas regulator is no longer working, looking for a replacement is there any other alternatives to Truma?

Cant see if it is a 8mm outlet or 10mm, any advice please?

Is it legal to use a normal 30 bar Calour gas regulator and secure it with jubilee clips?

Apparently not (see last paragraph).

I'm assuming you were considering bypassing a 30mb bulkhead regulator and using a 37mb one on the cylinder instead?

Just had a quick search on Google and ebay and there appear to be several "direct replacements" for Truma from other Continental manufacturers, but I'd check the details carefully (outlet may require adaptor depending on size, for example).

Maybe someone on here has replaced one and might be able to advise?

The easy way to tell if its an 8mm or 10mm is to measure the the thickness of the metal pipe which supplies the van from the regulator.
If you get an ajustable spanner and close the jaws around the pipe then measure the distance you can tell that way .
A new Truma regulator is around £50 .
Also make sure that the pigtail always hangs lower than the regulator then no oily residue can contaminate it.
