when measuring a caravan for an awning do you measure the length of the van or do you measure the length of the awning rail? last van we had came with an awning so we hadnt that problem. when it states awning size 800 to 850 cms what measurement does that refer to?
awning rail is what you measue and then the distance from the end of the rail to the ground - either end so handbook says 850 it means start at the gound and then go all the way along the rail, out the other end to the ground again BINGO
Dont forget there are porch awnings as well as full. These are all based on width. There are so many out there and the choice is immense. We just bought a pyramid 390cm which hopefully just fits just at the start of the curve at the rear of the van. The previous porch was a scenic about 250cm we now have a greyhound and the scenic is too small but so easy to put up by one person I hope the 390 is too. I have a personal rule if we go away for 5 nights and more I use the full awning, long weekends we use the porch.
