Just got back from our weekend here, what a lovely site!

The instructions sent by the CC need to be read VERY carefully, we found them dire and took a few wrong turns.  They quote 'Safari Park entrance' to Longleat but actually mean the entance road from the roundabout.  They quote 'Safari Park entrance' again, but mean rear entrance, they quote 'Safari Park entrance and Stalls Farm' which sounds like an all in place, we stopped as we thought we had gone too far, luckily another caravanner helped us out.  Don't follow satnav and go down a small lane next to the Royal Oak (I think).

We left at 9.30am as the weather was dire and didn't meet anything, it could have proved a bit hairy, but I don't think it will put us off going again.

Felt a bit sorry for the wardens as everyone was moaning (including me), but I wasn't impressed when the one told me more than once he was 'only temporary', what does that matter??????

I think this is half the problem, the route would be ok if it was one way and you knew for certain that you wouldn't meet anything, i.e another van, farm vehicle or safari bus!. Its interesting to hear that lots of people were complaining about it and maybe this will lead to a change back to the old route in / out, did they give you any indication of what might be happening?. We have a booking for September but intend to change this to another site if there is no amendment to the current access before then. Its a shame as we like the site and currently have annual membership to longleat which we would keep if they got this sorted out!!

Have been before and would have liked to have visited again and seen round the house, but they don`t want dogs, thats obvious ,so won`t be going ,there loss. And yes I think they want to do away with the CC site.

It will be the end of the CC site in my opinion....I love the place  but would not consider entering by the narrow windey "exit route" it would make the journey very stressful and just not worth it I'm afraid.
