pointless ?? if i was seasonal id rather have a static or something i could use as a tourer...but thats just my views
wonder if they will be subject to static caravan vat levels or are they already included in that ?

Adopt a rescue, rescue dogs make great pets, don't support puppy farms.
The road can be tough and rough, but what you put in you get back 10 x more.
If I wanted a van to keep in the one location in general then I would get a static.
I think this is aimed at a very small and select customer base.

Yeah can't see the point myself. You get none of the benefits of a touring van and not the space of a static. I suppose if you are someone who wants to use a seasonal pitch with the option of moving every few years maybe it would suit but then you have the hassle of getting someone to move it for you as you can't tow it. I am sure Bailey have done their research but can't see this been a large market.
Maybe they are aimed at those who would other wise buy a large hobby caravan and tow it with a transit van, or other commercial veichle.
Nice layouts, but too big to be towed around normal club sites and CLs, a bit of a crossover between a large tourer and a static, maybe attractive to those who would like a static, but without the problems of extortionate annual site fees, and restrictions on ownership sales only being allowed back to the site owner for pittance when they reach the end of their 'maximum age of caravan allowed on site'.

Why is it pointless? It is no different from the large German twin axle caravans that are popular with a certain section of the caravanning community & Bailey obviously want to get into this niche market. Anybody buying one will need plenty of security devices.
We had a look at one at Chichester Caravans (Colden Common) Very nice but bearing in mind the above comments....too big for touring and too small for static.
I understand it was designed for the Austrailian market where larger vans can be towed by normal road vehicles.
As they are also RHD then there is no door retooling for the UK market so Bailey have not got a great deal of work to launch here.
My feeling is the van will be used on standard caravan sites that allow seasonal pitches rather than as an alternative to a static. It is a great deal easier to hire an Iveco or equivalent to re site it compared to a low loader needed for a traditional static.
If its anything like the three Baileys that we have owned it will have been thrown together on the production line, shoddy workmanship, no thought gone into it at all, poor build quality etc etc. Bailey like to be the flagship company that comes up with novel ideas such as Alutech, but I went to a dealers recently to buy something from the shop and I spotted at least two pegasus on the forecourt and two Unicorns! Doesnt say alot about their products. Sorry if i sound cynical but we will never buy a Bailey caravan again. They need to look at the quality of their current products before they start inventing new ones, if they arent careful they will become a victim of their own success!
Well, I don't think they are pointless at all. They are addressing another niche in the market - I know LOTS of people who have a touring caravan on a seasonal pitch, and have had the same pitch for years. They can't afford a static and the associated costs (have you seen the cost of a static / site fees lately?).
This caravan would make a nice inbetween for those people I would think. Very nice they are too.
