Hi
To save the near divorce we go through pushing and pulling our 'van we're in the market for a mover.
I've read a lot of past threads and there seems to be recommendations for Powertouch, Reich and Enduro.
I see Powertouch have a new model out - has anyone any experience with this? I would usually shy away from anything too new until it's established it's reputation.
I've been quoted £775 for a Powertouch HD3 fitted on my storage site - does this seem a fair price?
Is manually engaging the mover hard work? Is it work paying extra for auto engagement?
I'm getting quite confused - plese help!
Thanks

I'm not sure about the price but powertouch are a good make and I have herd good reports about them but any of the three you have mentioned will work well as far as auto engage its not hard to manual engage I have a Reich which was fittered to the van before I bought it with manual engage its not hard to do and takes no time at all,I would think it would cost much more for the auto model.Ian

We have a Powertouch model and its faired well for 3 years without a problem. We engage the rollers manually and at first it seemed quite hard to engage and there was quite a violent kick to remove them again. Time has passed and either I have become used to this now or its less aggressive now - I dont know. All in all we would not be without the mover now.

Iv'e had apowertouch for four and a half yrs. The other week both the rollers bearings collapsed. One phone call and the fitter came round and fitted 2 new ones. No quibble guarrantee. He also re-adjusted and greased everything. Before the movement was quite agrresive but now engaging and disengaging is smooth and easy.

Hi, my mate has just fitted the new style Power touch to his twin axle, it only has the two drive motors, a new idea (unlike mine it has 4 drive motors & manual engagement) his also has the auto engagement and all works well.  If I had the choice again I would have the auto engagement, just being lazy, the manual engagements fine just keep them clean and oil'd up. My movers been on my van for 3 years now it has had 1 new drive motor fitted (water ingress) but apart from that it's worked well and saves my old neck when reversing into my tight drive entrance.  He paid around £500 at the SECC Glasgow caravan show.

£775 is a good price and I woud go for it. We have the same mover and find it an excellent bit of kit and with the 5 yrs parts and labour warranty worth the money. Manual operation is fine unless perhaps you are very old or have any medical conditions like a back problem. If you find it too hard when they fit it ask them to take off the power bar. The engagues both rollers at the same time to make it quicker but does mean it takes a bit more strength........putting them on one at a time is easy!

I have the new powrtouch. Auto engage is great, very quick, all good so far but as with all movers make sure your battery tip top and if I could I'd have a slightly bigger battery.
