Hmm., also depends where you're coming from. If you leave the M25 heading down M23, A23 you then have to join A27 through Worthing and Arundel - neither of which are much fun, then.
I think you mean M25, A3, A3M, M27, M275 which with the new tunnel at Hindhead is a breeze and much shorter/quicker than the M3 route.
Each to his own, but that's my preference and even Guildford by-pass is quiet on a Sunday morning. Watch out for the massive car boot sale just N of Guildford!
