Here's hoping someone can help.

We pick our 2008 coachman amara 380/2 festival edition next week.

After viewing yesterday, we noticed the set-up for the gass bottles in the front locker have changed, on my old van it was a piece of piping, 2 jubilee clips... and away you go.

Now i've noticed the more modern vans have dedicated piping... with what looked like a different connection too what i've seen before.

So 2 questions'

Do i simply need a different regulator than i used before (the standard calor gas type) or is there something different i'm missing.

The caravan comes with a powertouch motor mover (probably 2008). The mover comes with a dedicated asessories box which includes remote etc, could anyone give me an idea what the long electrical wire is for.

Hi stuart and thanks for your reply,

We viewed the caravan yesterday in northampton, 200 miles from our home, anyway we really liked what we saw, and are now the proud owners of this van.

Maybe when you have time you can help me with a few questions i have.

Firstly, where the internal wall board panels join togeather inside the van, they have tape to hide the join, these seem to be glued on as such but are lifting, although this isn't a problem, which will be dealt with before we pick up from the dealer, is this a commen problem with the coachman.

We want to buy a microwave to fit one of the top lockers above the cooker, will be put on the floor for travelling, any recommendations, caravan retailers want silly money.

Just too finish, we've been members of the cc for years, but never get the bookings we want via their website, our hols cannot be planned too far forward, so we have to work around everyone else's and hope there's space.

Anyway have a nice break.

Hi John, although im not a Coachman owner at the moment, i have been a few years ago when we bought a Genius 460SE from new, and it was only the increase in weights duing previous years that took the Coachman 4 berths over the limit of capabilities that our Honda would pull.

The tape curling away from the wallboard is a common problem in most makes of caravan, not just Coachman. we are in our third full season now with our Lunar, and indeed we have had all our tape replaced with the D shaped white plastic stuff that is fairly bomb proof as far as curling away is concerned.

as far as microwaves are concerned, we just bought a cheap no frills Argos 'Cookworks' model for £24-99 out of last years sale, fairly light and compact, but enough internal space to re-heat a 10ins plated meal or a mug of hot soup ect, they do exactly what they say on the tin, as long as you have EHU of course.

I hope you enjoy your Coachman as much as we did ours, and if ever we were in a position to be buying new again, both for tow car and caravan, i would not hesitate to buy a Coachman Caravan again.

Julia

Thanks julia, very kind of you to reply this fast.

We have just got rid of our old bailey majenta cd.... 20 years old... with very little if not any damp.

My wife looked at an amara 380/2 last year before our new purchase, and loved it, 200 miles worth actually, lol. The amara does look well built, certainly being 4 years old and showing little sign of wear. The microwave seems a good bet, and we have a local store near us, so will give them a try.
