Just got back from my first trip with my new to me car a 2009 Kia Carens, which is fitted with a detachable tow bar.
Its unbelievably low down due to the design of the car and when going up a gradient or a speed bump, it just scrapes against the floor.
Anyone else had this problem and if so how have you overcome it?
Thanks

We had a Kia Carens with a detachable tow bar. Although we never grounded I fitted some spring assisters because the car tended to bounce a lot. This solved the problem.
We sold the car because it was incapable of towing the van slowly uphill when in a traffic jam, Nearly burnt out the clutch so be carefull.

we had a 2.0 karens as well but it had an ordinary tow bar so we didn't have the probs you are having but we certainly didn't have any trouble with starting off when going up hill , if we had to stop on a hill we just waited for the cars in front to move off and we moved when the gap was fairly big. we only changed cars because the galaxy has a bigger tow limit.

Good, I thought I'd made a bad move then by changing vehicles. Lets hope these spring assisters help.

Have you checked the nose weight of the caravan?
Have you measured the height of the tow ball? I think the height of the centre of the ball should be between 350 and 420mm.

We were in a very large traffic jam in Bristol when our clutch started smoking.
Bought an automatic!!!!
Google spring assisters. They are on the internet.
Double check that you have the right ones for the car as there are two different ones.
