We are in the process of changing our van and will need to buy a new awning. We are thinking of going lightweight for obvious reasons but wonder how well the lightweight awnings stand up to the weather as we do like to caravan all year round. Any thoughts much appreciated.
after a lot of research we ordered a kampa rally club 390 for £349 from place in Walsall, delivery tomorrow! had very good reviews on here. Seems to be a half way solution between very light (flimsey) to full heavy awning.
we have just took delivery of a Kampa Rally 260 PRO our friends have one and are very pleased with it. The Pro is heavier than the 260. Ordered ours from Norwich Camping & Caravans good price and good service.
hi Enid, we looked at pro but cost and weight (mainly cost) stopped us getting pro. http://www.a2zcamping.co.uk/caravan_porch_awnings/2012-kampa-rally-club-390-caravan-lightweight-porch-awning.html A2Zcamping was also good, with free delivery and free storm straps.
Hi We have two light weight awnings both from Outdoor Revolution, a Techlite 1 (1 pole) and a Porchlite Plus XL (i think / 3 pole), both are very good awnings and easy to put up. Both have survived winter with snow on them and have been quite warm, we the use of a small fan heater in the awning. Like all awnings depends how well you put htem up as to how well they will withstand the weather. In strong winds we use the storm straps with the awning or throw the larger storm strap over we have for the larger awning. IMHO both very good awnings.
we have beern thinking about a lightweight too but how do they seal against the caravan given they only fit the awning rail at the top. does the wind get in the gap? are they ok if they lean up against a window?
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
