Can anyone recommend a awning that will fit my Elddis Wisp 300? I've measured from the awning rail to the floor and it's 86.55 cm but the straight part of the rail (above he door) is only 51 cm before it starts to dip down. Thanks

You need to measure the distance from the floor on one side all the way round the awning channel and down to the floor on the other side.
I have a eurovent sancere for sale which is 735 cm

Hi Steve, if its a 12ft body length caravan, I may just have an NR full awning in my loft that would fit it, im in Derby, a few miles up the A6, I would let it go for £25 as im sick of seeing it and having to move it around when im sorting out the rest of my gear.

If NottmSteve isn't interested I may be.  My Silverline is a 12ft.

Thanks Michael, I really norsed those measurements up but in my defence it was rather late lol

I've redone the measuring (properly this time) and my A frame works out at roughly 667 cm. I reckon someone has submitted the 350/2 as a 300/2, as its no where near 693. The height to the awning rail to ground is 224cm and the over all length of the van is just under 10 and a half feet. I really want to get one ASAP (for this weekend ideally) but things arnt looking to great :(

Hmmm,,,looking in the Owners manual is says 695cm, but I don't have any idea where I could of made up the an extra 28cm, when I measured it as 667. Measuring from ground X to Y along the top rail it is definitely no longer than 670cm (I just went out into the rain and measured it for the 4th time)

Have you considered a porch awning? We have and old Elddis Shamal which isn't very tall but our Sunncamp plus porch awning is fine height wise, the 'van is 13ft and the awning is about 3ft short of the whole van length so it might fit your van nicely, it gives us loads of extra space.

just a point,an awning does not go straight to the ground when fitting.try the string slightly out each side following the line of the rail.

at Leccyshep & Michael: I would take a porch or full awning but I don't think a porch would fit as the straight part (above the door) is only 51 inches (129cm) in length. All the porch awnings I've seen are attached to the straight part. I've been out into the rain (again lol) and after the straight part it dips down for another 33 inches (84cm) at a 7 inch slope.

The how to measure your awning:

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/articles/view.asp?id=22

Has a pretty good representation of what my Wisp looks like, and I have measured the rail as shown.

I can't find a decent side picture so I've 'borrowed' this one:

I wish we had a picture of our awning in situ because our 'van slopes down front and back (you might be able to tell from my avatar) so if we have it set up to cover the door and the side window towards the front it slopes down quite dramatically. it just takes a bit of flexible pegging out and guy roping to make it nice and taught.

Your caravan sounds like a very similar size to mine - ground to ground is 640cm and rail height is 220cm.
Biggest problem is that modern caravan makes and models just aren't that small or low so awnings aren't made to fit our units! The majority of awnings seem to be from 235cm-250cm tall and start at 735cm

I had a tiny porch awning that came with my van but it is really only any good to cover the door and provide a dumping ground for shoes!

I spent months looking for a suitable awning.
In the end I bought a small motorhome drive away awning (suitable for height 180cm - 230cm)

Have a look at the Movelite Midi or Movelite Square.
Movelite Midi

This is the awning I have - the extra sleeping pod is great for extra storage or to provide extra space if the rest of the family want to come away with me.
