I think you may well be right about the Friday afternoon model.

We did think about taking out the roof supports to stop it from pooling but decided not to in case the bloomin thing collapsed.

I'm going to the show at the NEC on Friday. I've promised not to come back with a new awning (promised with my fingers crossed behind my back

)

We've had problems with water pooling on ours , however by accident this summer I put the awning up in a bit of a rush with the result that the front of the awning was at a steeper angle, ie the front edge of the awning was lower.

This meant that the slope on the roof was steeper and for the first time never had any problems with water pooling despite two weeks of torrential rain.

Not sure if this will help but it appeared to work for us.
