I bought one that fits to the awning rail,(on the side of the van u don't use ur awning on). There is a plug on the outside of the caravan to plug it into and a booster in the wardrobe. I get a very good signal.

You may also like to invest in a very long co-ax cable for when your on sites with their own TV booser plug in on the services bollard.

A lot of super-pitches and caravan club sites have these connections, and they can be very good when the surrounding conditions dictate that a signal would otherwise be very difficult to pick up due to mountains or other obstructions in the area.

I would say go for the longest one you can find, some caravan club sites do sell them for around £14, and they save a lot of faffing about where the signal is very poor.

We have a clamp attached to the towbar area and the aerial pole simply slides into it and we tighten the knuts. Rather have it somewhere the wind can't do damage.

Mark, try something like this http://www.aerialshack.com/caravan-jockey-wheel-aerial-mast-clamp-p-979.html

Then slot an aerial pole into the correct place with an aerial of course. This is how mine is and works fine, not that I watch much TV, but always nice in the morning to watch the News with a coffee!

This the bracket I use together with the Ariel I posted up above.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.towsure.com/product/Vision_Plus_Universal_Caravan_Aerial_MultiMast

It take me 2mins to set up.
I bought mine as a set from stowford for just under £50 I think. Very simple but effective.
