We have been on the waiting list to get a storage space at a storage site much closer to where we live than our current place. A place has just become available which is very fortuitous as our year is up at the end of the month so the timing could not be better. I phoned my insurance company to tell them of the change in location and they informed me that there would be an additional premium to pay because we were originally on a gold site but the new one is only silver. I suppose that makes sense. I asked what the premium would be and after putting all the new storage details into the computer, he came back with 25p! It must surely be a waste of time processing a payment for 25p.

Oh well, we are just happy to have got a place nearer home.

Well we moved storage and there was no increase in the premium. Feeling smug now.....mind you they did charge £10 to change the address of the storage site on the policy...

When i asked C&CC insurance what the difference would be between Gold and Silver storage, i was quoted £54! But they didn't charge to amend the certificate with a new storage address!

I rang our insurance Co last week to let them know we had moved storage sites, after checking that the new one was a gold site the lady said "I'll just check if it will increase your premiums", quick as a flash i told her it better hadn't as the security was far better at the new one anyway after a couple of minutes she came back and told me that there would be no increase and they would send our new policy by email Not bad.
