Hi can anyone help please.From the plug on the outside of the caravan ( water drainage ) a small leak has developed it looks like the black tape seal is disintergrated .Can I replace this easily or do you think its the plug? Sorry its quite hard to write what I mean. Cheers

Sounds to me with what you are saying that the black tape is actually the rubber O ring, available from all caravan dealers, easy fix....

Thanks for replying. I still have a black rubber ring intact on the plug but will replace it too but the black tape is around the plug hole .Any help?

shouldnt have tape there, just an O ring. Only thing I can think is that it has been leaking previous and someone has tried to stem the flow with what they had at hand. Sorry cant be of more help.....

I would agree with what Fleetwood said about the temporary repair as we our o ring was leaking so hubby used some sort of tape to use it temporarily until we could get a new o ring

If you put a new rubber ring on it and it still leaks then you can put some PTFE tape on it.I had a leak in the same place on an old van we had a while ago I tried everthing I could think of a new ring a new bung no good then I tried PTFE tape on the threads it worked a treat you can get it from any B&Q store.Ian
