Do we leave the blinds up or down in the van when not in use, im sure I read on hear that keeping them down is no good as it does somehthing to the window seals? but im just concerned the sun will bleach the seats?
Every time I empty the toilet holding tank, it goes everywhere and keeps spilling into the van where the toilet cassette slides in, I have tried catching it with a bottle but it still spills into the van, im concerned its going to cause damp, on the picture it shows a bucket to empty it, but I havent really got room to carry a big bucket around with me.
We shouldn't but we leave ours down,some loose their tension but when they have been used a few times it comes back and as long as there is not too much left in the top tank we do not bother emptying it or just pump whats left in to the bottom tank before emptying it.
We leave our blinds closed,we don't have roller blinds in our swift we have the zig zag concertina blinds that go up, but even when we have had other vans with the roll down blinds we've always left them down, never had a problem, might of been the wrong thing to do, but I would rather replace a spring or two than replace all the faded upholstery, but we might have been wrong.

We close our blinds too but click the mesh & blind together and slide it to leave a 1" gap at the top for ventilation after reading on here that the heat can get trapped between the blind and window and crack the window if they're left fully closed.
With the roof lights we slide them across and again leave a small gap for the same reason.
Hi we leave our blends closed and have done getting the van new in 2008, all i do is retention the blinds when needed by turning the little plastic screw a few times. It can be found on most blends on the left hand side as you look at the blind on the window. With a small screw driver push it in a little and turn clock wise a few times as this will increase the tension, and then slowly let go and the screw will lock into place.
we leave our blinds open as we've found retensioning blinds is a pain in the bum especially when you have to take the blind off to do it cause the other blinds get in the way. We also leave them open when travelling, not sure why people leave them closed as they don't half blind you when the sun reflects off them. We have a plastic container that we empty the unused pink into to reuse next time we are away. No problems with splashing as the tube goes straight into the top

Our handbook tells us not to leave the blinds closed for long periods of time and also warns against the "trapped hot air" causing problems, especially with roof vents and heiki systems.
To stop fading of the seating etc, we have half a dozen fleecey blankets which we use to cover everything up while the van is in storage. We also find these useful when the van is in use and as they weigh very little we leave them in the van all the time. We find it just easier to cover the upholstery rather than fiddling about readjusting the tension on the blinds.
not proved but i think a lot of window problems are caused by leaving the blinds down.maybe a delamination problem.ie heat from the sun between the blind and the window can build up and not escape as easy.

Are you emptying the tank by pulling out the drain plug ?
If so I would just empty the tank by pumping it though into the bottom tank. I would only use the drain plug when it goes into storage over winter.
When you do use the drain plug try having a large funnel ready to catch it into a bottle.
Yes clever im pulling the drain plug and to begin with it shoots out (straight over me) then turns into a trickle which I can never catch and just leaks into caravan.
I will start to A)not completly fill the tank and B) flush through using the toilet.
Had the same problem with the drain plug, water everywhere , now use a plastic milk container with most of the top cut off (leave the handle on ) . It takes the shape of the tank when pushed against it and no spills
