been to the van today to give it a clean, noticed that the battery box lug what hold the door closed on one side is broke, (traingle shaped bit) any ideas how to fix this?. The battery box is the push button type, with 2 buttons, its the left hand side one,It is not holding because it has snapped off ,its moulded plastic?
I don't think that you would be able to fix it actually as it probably requires a complete new catch. These doors are called Thetford service doors but there are various sizes which are identified by numbers which are service door 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 so you need to find out which service door you need the replacement for first. The link below contains some PDF files of the different doors so you need to have a look and then locate the specific part number of the door catch you need. Once you have found the corresponding part number you can then do an extensive search on various websites to see if anybody stocks them.
anybody know what size thetford door i need for battery box on a swift freestyle 545 2011(charisma), as van is in storage, think it maybe a 5?
or is it worth ringing thetford up says it is guaranteed for 3 year?
