We are away with the van like a lot of people at the moment, is just my imagination or do others find that when you are on a pitch and someone pitches their van 2 or 3 pitches up from you, they always decide to play frisbies, badmington and football right outside your van and not their own.
I am not whinging in fact I have 3 daughters who have grown up loving caravanning but were not allowed to play ball games around caravans. To make it more irritating there is usually a games field (including where we are at the moment )for the children and in some cases their parents.
Just as I am finishing this post, their frisbe he's landed on the roof of the adjacent caravan to us, the owner not happy at all!
Funny enough it's the same when i'm at home the kids are always outside kicking their football against somebody else's garage door when there's a mini field about 50 yards away in 1 direction a park the other direction and a huge field about 100 yards away. I'm always up checking on my caravan cause we have it on the drive tho not for long it's going to my parents house cause of this reason.
lucky parents!! what have thye done to you to deserve this? that's one of the reasons we keep our van in storage - but also to ensure the burgilars don't spot the missing link
If they are outside your caravan playing ball just bring out your chair, sit down & stare at their kids with a slight smile on your face. They soon move.
Have had the same problem on several sites, just politely tell them to play outside their own caravan, if that fails have a word with the parents. Failing that do as Tentz says and sit outside your van until the oportunity arises that you can confiscate the offending toy.......
I'm away at the moment, and we have had frisbees and balls played outside, one ball hit our car,I'm really not anti children at all, and have a child ( 18 now so doesnt come with us) but this morning we were woke up at 5.55am to the kids next door screaming and playing football, the parents were obviously still asleep, I didn't say anything as I don't want to get in a row, it is after all jubilee weekend, and everyone is having fun, but I know I'll have to say something tomorrow if it continues, but what? never encountered it quite like this before, my Hubby isn't as tactical lol, so I think I might be the one to say something.

That's why we never venture out on bank holidays because of this very reason. We don't get it at home so I shouldn't see why we should have to have it when we are supposed to be away relaxing. We always go away when the kids are at school but if we decided to go at bank holiday time I think we would consider probably going on an adults only site.
We normally shy away from BH weekends, but we did this one as it was with family and thought it would be fun ( which it is) just ruined a bit by some.
However my prayers have been answered this morning, due to the heavy rain the family next door ( who are in a tent) are packing up and going home.
There are a lot of children here, and most have been really good and considerate, just sadly not all.

I feel it for you, M! I stayed at a site where the only space was by the little playground a few years ago. There were a couple there with four kids in a tent, who woke at dawn 4.45am and were let out to play (if you could call it that - banging with both fists on all fibreglass mouldings and screaming) while their parents slept off the beer they had consumed half the night. The parents were terrible during the day as well, eff-ing and blinding at the kids all the time. The only holiday those kids got was right there on the playground, the parents just sat and drank cans of lager until insensible.
I had only gone away during the kid's holidays to attend my son's graduation ceremony. I avoid anywhere that says there is a playground in high season since then!
Lucky people that can avoid school holidays. As a teacher I am stuck with them. Try to avoid worst times such as BH weekends. Going on Tuesday this week for a couple of nights in the vain hope that some of the crowds will have gone home.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
