The heating and hot water are controlled separately.
If on hookup, just flick the immersion switch. If on gas, just turn the dial to flame, set the thermostat and it should do the rest (make sure you have removed the cover to the flue outlet outside.
The Unicorns have Alde heating, just switch it on as normal and turn the van temperature down as low as it will go, you will then have hot water without any central heating.

I don't know if you have the same as our Pegasus 2 we have just collected it and had problems.
The electric water heater switch is next to a gas temperature setting I thought it was the electric and it wouldnt go . We took it straight back to the dealer and asked him to set it up and show me it working . He said the electric temperature is on the floor not next to the electic switch. He tested it for us and it was fine. Why they have the gas next to the electric I don't know . But any way if you can understand it was fine.
