Hi all I would just like people to know that finally I have won a battle with a company that has been posted many times on this web site. The company in question is called peak outdoors. I purchased a kampa 200 awning supposedly brand new in April this year, used it once and it leaked like a sieve . Contacted the company and was told I had to send it back at my own expense(£20) and after requesting a refund and providing photographic evidence , I got a reply in there words we don't do refunds we do what we have to do to repair it . After being ignored totally and getting citizens advice involved they responded to myself and after having the awning back for over a month by saying found nothing wrong ( providing no photographic evidence) sort a parcel carrier out to come and collect your awning. I then had to write stating that I was starting court proceedings against them. They had my awning and my money £180 for nearly three months I finally received a e mail stating a full refund was being put on my card. I can honestly say its been quite exhausting and stressful at times and I can understand why on some posts people who had similar problems as myself gave up after having such an awful time with this company, but I was determined. Im not bragging in anyway and I am no one special but I am sick to death of these type of company's giving awful customer service. I was made redundant two years ago after 30 years of service and have worked damm herd for my money , so I am saying to people out there who might be going through similar circumstances as myself ,NEVER GIVE UP . And please please stay well clear from this company. Sorry to of bang on a bit but if it wasn't for the support and help I have had from people on this forum I might of gave up . Thank you
Well done, glad you had a good result but I have to say in their defence, we bought party tent from them, when it came there were several bent poles, after emailing them with photo's they sent new poles out the next day, we couldn't fault them.
Yousay they are mentioned on here a lot, I have never seen this.....maybe not on the usualthreads I look at.
It's quite strange how some companies are like this sometimes good sometimes bad.
Hi Scoobz, Very glad to hear that and you stuck it out and finally got a good result. Sadly there are a lot of companies around like that.
Having said that I got a very welcome surprise this Monday when I had to enquire about a part that had blown (not related to caravan) the transformer on my recliner chair had blown with the help of my 4 year old granddaughter,(chair over 6 years old), I e-mailed the company to see if they had an address for ordering new part, to my surprise I had an e-mail return same day, Saying e-mail your details I will send you the part, test it on chair if ok, then send cheque at your convenience, delivered Wednesday cheque sent Wednesday.
Now that’s what I call customer service. So there are some very good companies out there.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
Mickey. Spot on . I will be honest I have been to hell and back at times over this, and my wife has said lets just leave it as she could see how at times it was getting to me. But it was there arrogance that drove myself on. What I found really sad was certain body's e.g trading standards did not want to know. I thought they were there to protect the consumer but the only response I got from them was we have example letters on are web site if you wish to use them. Even though I told them that I had already done that and the company in question were ignoring them. There reply was send it again they might be a busy company and did not have time to look at the first letter. What a load of twonk.but as I said before if anybody was in my position( as sadly more and more of us are) I would just say keep fighting. Once again thank you everybody who have took the time to support me. It's very kind of you all. Cheers scoobz
