So i had the mover fitted on wednesday but found i needed a new battery so wasn't shown it working. So have bought a new battery connected it all up and then i found the problem. I cant get it to move straight forward or backwards. It just seems to be moving either to the left or right, I couldn't see down the one side of the caravan to see if the wheel was moving on the left but definately saw the right one moving slightly backwards. Any ideas or am i not moving it far enough to get it to go straight? I've tried straightening the jockey wheel up also.
sounds like a faulty remote.not connected to the tyres try using the mover in all positions/directions.both the rollers should move at all times forward and backwards.check handbrake is fully off.if turning left or right only one will move depends on which way you are going.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
When i'm pressing forward or backwards it's just moving left or right so could it be i've not wound it on far enough and the rollers not touching on the left tyre?
if he did not test it because of the battery it is just possible that the gap is too large on one side after the rollers are engaged.this would cause slipping on the tyre and give the movement as described.ring back and ask him to look at it for you.

If the left motor is not working when disengaged from the tyre it sounds like you have a bad/loose connection either at the motor end of the cable or at the control box.
I had a problem with mine and it was just a bad connection at the motor as it only uses spade connectors. I removed it, tightened the spade and the re-connected.
Well it just gets better, having had to chase the company who fitted the mover to finally be told we're not coming out to look at it we're just gonna guess what's the problem and order some parts. I'd booked to go local this weekend to try the mover out just me and the 2 young kids but that isn't happening good job there's no charge from the site or there would be problems!!
Check the operation of the rollers without actually engaging them to the tyres. If the both work forward and back and also individually forward and back then there isn't likely to be a connection or remote problem.. so more likely a case of contact/alignment when engaged.
That is really poor service by whoever fitted it. What if the 'guess' is not correct and they can't fix it when they come out. As John said above I of expected them to have a charged battery with them so they could test it when they fitted it.
who fitted it, if you payed by credit card get in touch with your card supplier and get them to chase the fitters to come and fix it they seem to have a lot of clout with these companies
