We bought our first caravan in February and certainly no thoughts of w change. I use the shower to wash the children and for the occasional shower. It came in handy at our last site where the boiler broke and all the showers were freezing!

Toddler + daddy can shower, short wait for water heater to catch up followed by a quick shower for me. We fill up water container before starting and haven't run out yet, more likely the heated water won't keep up. We're careful and quick but coin showers can be worse!

I tend to wet myself all over turn off the shower , soap up and shampoo hair then turn shower on again to rinse off. Have never run out of water. Think I use more water on the washing up than I do in the shower.17

Can I butt in and ask a quickie? We have a shower in our van, but I told the OH not to use it as the water would run out fast and you'd end up covered in soap with no water.

How long can you run a shower from a standard water barrel?

It depends on your set-up to some extent, i.e. Internal cold as well as hot tank or cold all from the barrel. The size of your hot water tank is probably the limiting factor, if you shower like at home you will run out of hot water.

Get wet and then turm water off whilst you wash, then rinse off, will not use much water.
