We've got our caravan up for sale on various sites, i woke up this morning and there was an email saying, is it still for sale?, I replied yes, then i recieved another email just saying "how much you want to sell, give me email address so I can talk to you and know who I'm dealing with" ( that's their reply) I replied talk to me through *******, I just keep getting mails saying in very broken English, how much ? Nothing else , I've responded with do you not want to see it ect ect, and told them a bit about it, but my last mail I received just said again, so how much you want to sell it?.
Shall I just ignore them now? Do you get scam buyers, I googled the persons name, I can't find anyone specific expect the few people who I did find are Nigerian.
My git feeling is this isn't ligit.

Thanks Ratty, just as I thought, I've just responded with a final email, saying if you want the caravan you will come and view it, as of yet no response .

I am pretty sure they are scammers, just something in the first email switched a light on in my head.

Just ignore them, they are not interested in your caravan in the slightest
What they plan to do is post you a fake bank draft & suprise suprise, it will be made out for a greater amount than you are asking for the caravan, they will then want you to "wire" the over payment back to them,
It will take your bank around 2weeks to tell you the draft is fake at which point they will remove the full amount from your account leaving you out of pocket by the amount you "wired" to them
This happens all the time to us in work, I now pin the drafts on the wall as souvenir or if its a slow week I tell them I havent received it and to send another,
I had one scammer send me three & each time he made a mistake with the amount!
Well I sent one email saying if you are so genuine, come and see the van, if you like it, then I'll take cash, they never replied ( surprise surprise) and I reported the emails to the selling site and blocked them.
Yes we did go and see about trade in, obviously not as much as we hoped for, but Saturday if still nothing, and if the van we like is still there, we are trading the swift in.This is to be our last van for a very very long time, so we've decided, might as well cut our loses and get the van we really want, and get to enjoy it for the remainder of this year ( well if the weather ever improves lol) Plus I'm so fed up with people emailing us and offering us silly money privately, might as well just chop it in.

Hi Murano, could'nt help but notice the typo in your first post here Lol. Think it was more accurate than a gut feeling. I.e. you are dealing with a Git at the other end, chortle.
Have you had it valued to chop it yet, I was surprised when I had mine valued for a part ex a few weeks ago and they offered what I paid for it 18 months ago.
Oh yeah so I did, lol well they were gits, soon god rid of them though lol, such a shame you can't sell without someone trying to scam you.
We've seen a van at a dealers and they offered us not much less than we have ours up for sale, so we are going to go for it, tbh I'm fed up with the opportunists offering us 4.5k for it, I had one email saying I've only got 4k 4.5 at a push would you sell it for that? I said if you've only got that much then look at vans in that price range, we've seen loads of vans we like at 14k but we don't have that much to spend, and wouldnt want to anyway, so we wouldn't dream of offering 8k for a 14k van. Maybe that's just me though lol.we have a budget which means at a dealers we won't get as new as we'd like if buying private, but the van we've seen is a bailey pageant burgundy series 6, it ticks all the boxes, tested dry with the meter, has a warranty feels really nice, a good match for the car, so I think we will go for it, going up Saturday to do the deed.

I advertised some of our family tents and tent extensions which were like new - I just loved it when they say I'll give you £50 to take it off your hands and pick it up tonight !!!!! as though I'd agree just for them to sell them on at mega profit - err think not.
Chances are that some of the offers you've had for silly money will be dealers trying their hand.
yeh its a scam they will eventually tell u that there a engineer for the navy or something and they will want to just pay the price you want via paypal!!! and send a friend to collect it and when you notice that you have had no payment yet they will say that they have sent it and that it has cost them money so there coming to collect. Best advice is just ignore..or block
------------- just startin and it aint been good so far so watch what u buy!!!!
