i guess it would all depend on make and model of 'van, i recently put a complete new jockey wheel and winder on our's ( an aging avondale / perle orestes) and it was simplicity itself only took 5 minutes , ours is clamped to the 'A' frame via an adjustable clamp affair ,so all i had to do was loosen off the screw down bolt ,then off with the old and on with the new and screw back down again.
our tin ten was on level ground at the time and all 4 corner steadies were down, oh and i didn't have to remove the 'A' frame cover either as our's has a cut away section to allow direct access to the jockey wheel, i know not all 'vans do
hope this helps in some small way
------------- no tin tent outings booked as yet ,just another cruise in Sept' booked so far
