Well we packed up caravanning after having a van for 35 years, advancing years and deteriating health taking their toll Had a week away in static but wasn't for us. Thought maybe a campervan/motor home might be the answer. Couldn't find one that would acomadate twin single beds and still be small enough to fit on our drive. Can't be doing with getting a van in and out of storage anymore. Tried to find a panel van with a view to having a motorhome conversion done, but again couldn't find one with enough floor space and still fit the drive. Back to the drawing board again. After much discussion decided a baby 2 berth might be the answer, so started trawling the net again. Found an absolute beaut, 2011 Sprite Finesse, brand new just old stock. Tried to do a deal but it wasn't to be as dealer wouldn't give us enough on our Bailey Senator Arizona even if I left the motor mover on. Down the road we went to another dealer, about 50 or 60 vans on show from cheapo early 90s to brand new. Then we spotted it. It was certainly different, an Adria Active,
two tone metallic blue and a most unusual body shape. My first comment was "That'll never have a long enough lounge to make 2 singles." After much peering into heavily tinted windows which we couldn't see thro, went and grabbed proprieter who opened it up and what a surprise! Two front lounge seats of 6'3" long and a wonderfully designed kitchen and wash room in a refreshingly light finish. OK so who needs an oven anyway, I think we only ever used the one in the Arizona once in the 5 years we had it. Who needs a radio/cd player, always take a portable. The 2 burner hob and grill is sufficent for the amount of cooking we do in the van. So all things being equal, it looks like I'm back over there tomorrow with the deposit in my grubby mit pending delivering our Bailey to him and paying the balance, hopefully next weekend
(I'm never going to get that garden done.)
So that's my little tale and HERE WE GO AGAIN, heres too the next 35 years..............Mick
