What can I use to clean my filthy caravan with ground in dirt that I can't remove with standard caravan shampoo and scrubbing.  It is badly stained with tree sap etc and road dirt.  HELP!!!

I used Fenwicks Superior Caravan Cleaner when I bought our second hand van. It was filthy! A Micro Fibre cloth and it soon took away all the grime. For those stubborn bits of black streaks I used Fenwicks Black streak remover and to be honest the van came up great!

The Micro Fibre cloths are better than a sponge!

Give the Fenwicks a try, soak the van in the diluted solution and give it a wipe with a quality Micro Fibre cloth. Your van can't be any worse than mine was, which should have been white, but was greeny brown!

Thanks - much appreciated although a micro fibre cloth sounds a bit "soft" - I thought sand paper might be more the thing!!!  Just joking!

LOL, you didn't see the state of our van! It was a fellow camper who suggested Micro Fibre and to be fair he was right!

I didn't even scrub, the green Algae just wiped away!

using a wax will seal the finished coat of paint..only wax after the painted surface is clean and polished.i used to be a car valeter and used Collinite 476s wax which is extremely durable and protects paintwork for up to a years when applied properly

I did my roof last week, and used a car 'sponge' with 2 diferent sides - one side was fluffy microfibre, the other side had a nylon 'mesh' - more 'bite' than the other side.

(like a milder version of the sponge + scouring pad double sided things for cleaning pots, pans, etc)

This shifted the little black dots with ease on the roof.

I think I got mine in this kit from tesco:

To get the stubborn black rain residue marks off, use a cheap wax furniture pollish.  Works really well.  Not sure why it works, but does it better than anything I've ever used.
