Could you put a few details into that Michael as I thought it was more of an issue with some generators not producing a clean sine wave on AC power rather than 12V DC i read one time that a generator could (and i say could) give off a spike and any 12 volt items in use at that time may be damaged ie.tv ,radio.mainly from a cheap type.you can buy something to protect you from this.one newish caravan i read about had to have the 12 volt burned wiring loom refitted at his expence due to generator use. as i do not have one i can not tell you more.
