Hi - anyone any advice on batteries and motor movers? My oldish battery failed to work the mover so I am buying a new one - any advice?

if you have room in your battery compartment buy a 110 amp because it will last longer in use.

Also just bear in mind that movers take an awful lot of current drain on the battery, and if the terminals of both battery and mover leads are not in A1 condition then this will have an effect on the mover performance. I know this because we had this problem, and concluded the mover was un reliable, however we got another battery based upon advice here even though all tests indicated the battery (original one 2yrs old) was in tip top condition, and still had similar problems. It was eventually traced to a poor earth connection. Earth connection and new terminals put on and all crimps checked on the wiring and no problems since. I would conclude that after fitting a mover recently then that the route to most problems with the movers is the poor connection on the electrical side of things, seeing as the wires going to the motors are only simply crimped together, and if not done properly can cause problems.

Its worth a look see prior to paying high prices for a battery though.

Get a 110ah or higher and make sure it fits in the battery box. I got mine next day on ebay.

As said I too use 110amp battery, when it does give up the ghost I shall replace it with an Elecsol battery.

If I were you I would go for a 110 ah and the best place to buy one is alpha batteries of Rochdale,they have a shop on ebay and do a next day delivery for a small charge.I got a 110ah for £62 with a four year guarentee and if you ring them with the size they will tell if they have that size in stock I have had mine for two years now with no problem there staff were very helpfull my local battery company wanted £110 so a big saveing.Ian
