Wonder if anyone can help me plugged my water pump in on my last trip and it was working fine next day it just packed in . is it the pump that's broke or is it something else - I've checked the pump and it looks ok so I'm at a loose end
Remove the water pump from the housing, connect an electrical tester across the two contacts and ask someone inside the caravan to turn on a tap. When the tap is turned it sends a current to activate the pump so you should get a meter reading. If you do then the water pump is defective and needs replacing but if you don't achieve any reading at all then it has to be something else between the housing and the pressure switch or micro-switches.
Check as above but,on my zig panel there were fuses.If a fuse has blown replace it, if it blows again could mean the impeller has stuck on the pump.I found there was no amount of wd40 was going to free it as it went for a min and blew the fuse again.I ended up with a new pump.
if you let it dry out,ie.run out of water it will burn itself out on the motor.odd times you can get an air lock.just take out the pump and shake it,add it to the water first before fitting to the caravan.as said check all fuses.
