Of course, just to mention there may not be a fuse, depending on your model, whether a manual or electric flush.
I'd guess your Ranger will have the C200 manual, in which case the following drawing might help better - reed switch is item 23 in this drawing. Click here for drawing.
Do you ask because you have a problem with the fill indicator?
Yes i am having aproblem with the fill indicator, it doesn't come on.I have cleaned the battery holder to get all the corrosion off and tried new batteries. So whats wrong?
The reed switch is simply a magnetically operated switch that's actuated by a float arm within the cassette itself. You can prove the switch by holding a small magnet against it (if you're hearings good, you'll hear a faint click as you move the magnetic towards and away from the switch). When activated by the magnet, the tank LED will light. If it doesn't, you need to investigate further:
The battery holder itself
The reed switch (not so easy to check unless you have a continuity meter and prepared to break the circuit)
The lamp itself - bypass switch and apply 6v direct to the lamp
If you quickly find the lamp works when tested with a magent, the problem will more than likely be the float arm in the cassette. Drawing/instruction to check that can be found here.
Ha Ha! tremendous response G7ACU. I am the only person in my family of 5 that doesn't use the onboard facilities, but guess who empties it and even more guess who is gonna be upto their elbow in the cassette tomorrow? Many thanks for the info.
